Spain's celebrated naval architect Álvaro de Bazán first designed

the prototype for the galleon in the 1550s. Galleons were the
most versatile of all sixteenth-century ships. Lighter and faster

than carracks, galleons served as transports, trading vessels
and warships. They were more affordable, too; historical records
show that five galleons could be built for the same price as
three carracks! This easy-to-build kit features textured sails, a

decorative stern castle, side oars, authentic flags and a
display stand.
