Winner of the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally

The Mini Cooper's legendary reputation is based on ingenious,
compact design and racing success. One thousand Mini Cooper "S"
types, with a more powerful 71 bhp engine, were built to compete
in Group 1 rallies. An all-British driving team won the 1964
Monte Carlo Rally with a Cooper S. Patrick Hopkirk and his
co-driver Henry Liddon finished the race as overall winners,
their victory became a milestone in the history of rally sport.
