Douglas DC-6 is an American civilian four-engine plane designed
in 1946 by the aircraft engineering firm Douglas C-54 on the base
of its predecessor. Series production lasted since 1947 till
1958, there were produced more than 500 civilian machines for
that period of time. Since 1952 Douglas DC-6 started to perform
transatlantic flights of the passengers of tourist class, which
greatly contributed to the growth of aviation in general. With
the advent of more modern Douglas DC-7 at the end of the 1950s it
gradually began to retreat into the background. Some of these
aircraft in third world countries continued to be used until the
mid ‘80s. The Douglas DC-6 is one of the most elegant and classic
